We are doing okay, even though it was very hard to let him go.
We know that he is in the very capable hands of a loving God who knows what's best for all of us and has a plan that we could never even imagine.
......BUT....
We can't wait for him to come home!!
There are 3 sets of 365 M&M's in this jar - each girl gets to eat one M&M every day until Daddy comes home! A very sweet way to start each day without him!!
A little pool fun with Daddy on Monday
A late night Dairy Queen run later.
Tuesday morning, John gave the girls a stationary box, filled with fun pens, crayons, note cards, envelopes, stickers and a journal so they could keep in touch with him and write down their thoughts each day.
Taking a picture with his princesses before heading off to take him to work for the year.
Our Family Picture at the gym. We were able to spend an hour with him at the Gym before he had to leave for the airfield. No, I didn't wear any eye makeup for obvious reasons :-)
Jana waving goodbye to her Daddy from the Stands - it was very quiet while the Rear Detachment Commander was speaking....all except for Jana who was very loudly loving on her Daddy from afar.
Our last look! We love you so much!!
It wasn't the best day of our lives, it wasn't the worst either. We cried a little (well, okay, maybe a lot). We hugged each other. We prayed for Daddy. We came home. We swam in the pool. We had peanut butter and jelly for dinner. I let the girls stay up late and watch movies. We all had a sleepover in my bed. Day 1 is upon us and were ready for the next 364!
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.
You oh Lord are a shield around me. You're my glory. You're the lifter of my head.
He that dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord he is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.
Surely He will save you from the fowler's snare, and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with His feathers, and unders His wings you will find refuge.
His faithfullness will be your shield and rampart.....
...If you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will befall you.
No disaster will come near your tent.
For He will command His angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.
They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
I love you so much my dear sweet friend!! Thank you for sharing your love & sacrifice with us. I'm so thankful we will have each other during this deployment. Reading your post & as we get closer to our own dates makes this whole thing so REAL!!
