The Moris's "Summer" Holiday!

(Sorry, I've been a HUGE slacker on our blog. Between moving from Australia, our 3 weeks of travel, Emma's first day of Kindy and John's surgery, well..... :-) I promise promise to be better as soon as our things come ....they show up tomorrow!! YAY)

As we move back into life in the Northern Hemisphere, our Southern Hemisphere friends have been on Summer Holidays, enjoying a warm Christmas and New Years.....Our "Summer Holidays" have been pretty chilly to say the least. So, I have appropriately named our Christmas/New Years Journey our "Summer Holiday"!! Even as it was NOT summer for us!! Here is our Holiday Journey in pictures....seems like the best way to show you what we've been up too!! The last two months we have felt the power of God's hand in our lives, been loved on by friends, made new friends, been missing our old friends, had Christmas and New Years with family and are rolling fast into life in our new El Paso Home.
Our Holiday Journey began in New Jersey for Christmas. Here is a picture of PopPop Unrath reading the Christmas story to the girls on Christmas Eve. While in New Jersey, we had lots of fun with our puppy cousins, playing with our Aunts and Uncles and the girls got to experience their first major blizzard!!

It was the perfect Christmas gift to spend time with my Grandma Unrath and Grandpa Dyksen. This precious picture shows 4 Generations of Unraths!!

Family comes in many forms for us and God blessed us with the opportunity to see our "family" in D.C. Who knew that 24 hours of time could make 11 hearts so happy!! There is nothing quite like having the kind of friends that you can just walk into their homes and their hearts like you've never missed a beat! Thank you to the Yoho's for making special time for us - it made us really feel like we came Home!!

It was so nice for me to be "home" for Christmas. As our Children and our lives grow and change spending Christmas in New Jersey won't happen very often. This year it was just beautiful to be surrounded by my Dad, sister, brothers and sisters-in-law, sharing the joy of our family at Christmas. Here are the Unraths!!!

We headed to Sandwich a day late, thanks to the blizzard, but were very happy to see Nana and Papa Moris!! .....and....... our very first cousin!! "Uncle" John finally got to hold and hug his new nephew, although not so new any more! Meeting our Brady James for the first time was the best best present!!! And he did not disappoint. Although his noisy cousins made him a little nervous at first, he quickly warmed up and it was heartwarming to watch the next generation of Moris kids playing together over the special holiday time. Nana and Papa made things special for us too! Papa's train was up and running for Christmas and Nana had lots of crafts and cookie making time that made many special memories. Our Moris Family!!

Emma got a camera as a gift from her Uncle Jim and Aunt Lauren and below is an example of her creative photography using her camera on a tripod. I think the total Christmas picture count on Emma's camera (after deletions) was 264!!

With 3 weeks of holiday traveling come to an end, we are finally getting settled into our "new" life. And although it isn't summer here :-) our hearts feel warm, we are refreshed and ready for our New Year!! Blessings to all and thanks for keeping up!!

  1. Thank you for the update. I feel so blessed that I was able to spend a little bit of time with you during your "Summer" holiday. The people of El Paso have no idea how blessed they are to have the Moris family living in their mist. Let us know how the search for a church family goes. Lots of Love-Nana Milne
