Yesterday we took time to to decorate our little fiber optic tree (came with the house LOL). We put up just a few ornaments, but it was enough to get the girls very excited for the big day!! At the end of it all they were sweaty and generally blissfully happy!
This morning we spent time in God's Word and studied Luke and Matthew. We spent time reading together about how Joseph and Mary traveled to Bethlehem, what the Angels said to the Shepherds, what the Magi brought as gifts and that Jesus means, Immanuel, God with Us and that Christ means "Annointed One". Emma made a picture to help her to tell the story back to her baby sister Lily! John and I really want Emma to know that Jesus, God the Son was born a baby, came to Live a Perfect Life! and be the Perfect Sacrifice for our sins - "A Savior has been born and He is Christ, The Lord!" Here is the picture that we worked on - Emma took some tape and hung it up on the door to her room.
After Lily's nap, we made ginger bread cookies and decorated them for Santa! I think that Lily ate more than she decorated - but we sure had lots of fun together baking and laughing and just being giggly girls - those of you who know us, know that giggly is what we do best!
The finished product! Emma told us that maybe next year we should leave Santa a healthy snack so that he could get a skinny tummy LOL!
After tracking Santa on www.noradsanta.org, Daddy helped Emma put out the cookies and milk. They wrote a note to Santa together - it simply said, "thank you santa. Emma & Lily" - Emma wrote it herself! While Emma was in bed and I asked her to say her prayers, she thanked God for "Jesus and all His Love" - the best present a Mommy could ever ask for!
Yeah for Christmas in Australia! My primary thought though is WHOA! Lily's hair is getting so long and curly!! TOO CUTE!
ReplyDeleteAs we FREEZE in Northern Virginia today, I am thinking that Australian weather sounds pretty good to me. I would LOVE to be in my shorts and T shirt right about now. (My motto is "If
