Lots of great food, good fellowship, kids playing, hugs in abundance, prayers that overwhelm us and a tearful goodbye. Our friends the Yoho's, along with our homegroup and some close friends from church sent us off well with an afternoon potluck yesterday. The first of many tearful goodbyes as we set off for a year Down Under. I know some of you might think, "hey, it's just a year, you'll be back soon." True for our families, who we will continue to see as time goes by and as God allows; we will see them all as often as we can as soon as we get back. As a military family though, every move leaves your heart full of friends that you will, inevitalby, have to say goodbye to and it's very hard to do.
These are the friends who jump right into life with you, just like they had always been there. They love you, make meals for you, pray with you, laugh with and at you, watch your kids when you have an appointment or need a break, and accept you right as you are, just as you come, no strings attached. These friends are rare treasures, God given gifts, the icing on the cake of life as I like to say. God has been so good to us - everywhere we go, we are blessed with these friends. Our friend list is long and for that I am grateful, but just for today I am going to take a minute and just tell a few special people how much we love them and how much they are going to be missed. I hope you all know that you all mean a lot, but sometimes in life....well, a very special Thank You is in order.
To Ryan, Lacey, Abigail, Elizabeth, James & Silas.....Blessed be the tie that binds, our hearts in Christian love! We love you and can't wait to meet up in another fun season of life. Thanks for everything! Phil 1:3!! Prov 17:17!! Eccl 4:9-12!!
p.s. Make sure that James and Silas know that they are spoken for....Mo-Yo Weddings would be super duper fun!!!!
