A star was born in Texas, 5 years ago today

What a day it was, Sept. 3, 2005. The day I became a mother, the day John became a father, the day Emma Grace "graced" us with her presence!!

How does it happen that 5 years goes by so quickly?

This Birthday, we celebrated by having a 'Fancy Nancy' Party - one of Emma's favorite books! We made fruit loop necklaces, had a fashion show, played 'pass-the-parcel', freeze dance, decorate your own cupcakes and had a little fun on the bounce house!! It was a fancy day filled with laughter and fun - just like our Emma!!

Emma is growing up beautifully. She is smart, caring, creative and loves her sisters very much. She knows the things that she has to work on, acknowledging them and is learning to ask for help, even when that's hard to do. Emma loves being the biggest sister and is learning that being a servant is the most important part of that job. Often Emma can be found reading to Lily or singing to Jana. She loves reading and is learning fast, mastering many of her easy reader books all by herself. Emma knows that Jesus loves her and is working on the fruits of the Spirit to help her learn how to be the kind of girl that God has designed her to be. She says that the Bible is the best book!

Her favorite color is blue and she likes yellow too. Her favorite food is macaroni and cheese. Her favorite dessert is chocolate and vanilla icecream with magic shell on the top. She takes tap dance and loves to learn the new steps each week. She is a great swimmer, a fast runner and colors perfectly inside the lines. She has become the expert on all things Australian and can do a perfect impression of a Kookaburra laugh!!

Taking a look back over the last five years, Emma has never had a party in the same place twice! From Texas, Illinois, Virginia, Florida and Australia, our little girl has been showered with love and friends and experiences that are shaping her into an amazing little girl. Her journey has begun and she's being equipped for the life she's meant for even as we speak.

Emma Grace, you rock!! Happy Birthday to our Biggest Girl! We love you so much!!! Here is a quick trip down birthday memory lane. Everyday with Emma is a party, an exciting adventure. We wouldn't have it any other way!!
